How to Manage a Wix Website

How to Manage a Wix Website

Your Wix website is a powerful tool for showcasing your brand and services online. Regular updates and management can help keep your site fresh, relevant, and engaging for visitors. Below are basic steps for logging in, making edits, and monitoring your site’s performance.

Steps for Managing Your Wix Website

1. Log into Your Account

To access your website, go to Wix.com and click Log In in the top-right corner. Enter your email and password to log into your account. If you’re new to Wix, you can set up an account for free and start building your site.

2. Editing Pages

Once logged in, follow these steps to edit your website pages:

  • From your Dashboard, select your site, and click Edit Site. This will open the Wix Editor, where you can make changes.
  • To edit a specific page, navigate to it in the site menu on the left. You can modify text, images, and layout by clicking directly on elements within the page.
  • For each section, use the Settings and Design options to customize the look and feel. Wix also offers Drag & Drop functionality, making it easy to rearrange elements.

More details on editing pages are available in Wix’s Editing Help.

3. Adding New Content

Adding fresh content to your site is crucial to engaging your audience and improving SEO. To add content:

  • Click Add on the left side of the Editor. This menu allows you to insert Text, Images, Videos, Buttons, Galleries, and more.
  • Select the type of content you want, then click and drag it into the desired location on your page.
  • Use the Settings options to adjust content details, such as image alt text (for accessibility and SEO) and button links.

4. Publishing Updates

Once you’ve made changes, it’s time to publish your site:

  • Click Publish in the top-right corner of the Editor. This ensures all your updates go live on your site.
  • You can preview your changes first by clicking Preview, which shows how the site will appear to visitors on both desktop and mobile.

For more on publishing updates, see Wix’s Publishing Guide.

5. Checking Site Analytics

Monitoring your site’s performance is key to understanding visitor behavior and improving your content. Wix offers built-in analytics:

  • From your Dashboard, click Analytics. This section provides insights into traffic sources, visitor behavior, and engagement metrics.
  • For more in-depth data, consider integrating Google Analytics with your Wix site to get detailed reports on audience demographics and interactions.
